We are pleased to able to report that colleagues working in Catering,
Hospitality, Security, Cleaning, Maintenance and Logistics Services will
become SOAS employees on Wednesday 29 August 2018.
Over recent months, Estates and HR teams have been working closely with
Unison representatives and have agreed with Unison a framework for staff
to transfer to SOAS terms and conditions.
This is in line with the commitment made by the School on 4 August 2017. We
are now engaging directly with all staff involved in the transfer.
I want to thank everyone involved who has been working toward this shared
goal for SOAS.
The whole SOAS community – students, staff, unions and our new employees –
have worked hard and shown a positive commitment to work together.
We look forward to continuing to work together in 2018-19 academic year as
one professional service for the benefit of our students, staff and the
whole SOAS community.
We very much hope to mark this important occasion in a suitable way and we
will provide a further update in a few weeks time.
