A recently published paper of Mr. Haruna Issahaku, Professor Joshua Yindenaba Abor and Professor Mohammed Amidu find that:

1.      Remittances stimulate economic growth only in low income and lower middle-income countries.

2.     Remittances together with domestic institutions in low income and lower middle-income countries promote growth.

3.     Institutions in upper middle and high-income countries act as substitutes to remittances to promote growth.
