What if your Job isn’t Real?

03/03/2022 @ 19:00 - 21:00

JOBFISHED’ BBC documentary screening and panel discussion with:

Catrin Nye | Presenter and Investigative Reporter (BBC)

Divya Talwar | Producer (BBC)

Leo Sands | Producer (BBC)

AND a former jobfished staff member

It’s Britain’s first Covid lockdown: the world is working from home and in the depths of the deadly pandemic one company spots an opportunity.

A new BBC documentary investigates Madbird – a digital design agency that faked its own existence and tricked over 50 people into believing that they were working remotely for a real-life company. The office was fake, the bosses were fake, the clients were fake, the impressive work the company had done – fake. So how did so many people work there for months on end?

Who is real? Who is behind this? And what was the point? In JOBFISHED investigative journalist Catrin Nye uncovers a web of lies, confronts the company’s bosses, and battles to get to the truth of what happened at Madbird.
