SEAM Collections: New Subscription to Resources on Southeast Asia

The Southeast Asia Materials Project (SEAM) was founded in 1970 by North American institutions specializing in Southeast Asian materials. SEAM’s microform and digital collections form a large pool of historical, political, linguistic, economic, and geographical data and primary source materials not available elsewhere. SEAM holdings include more than 300 historic newspapers from every country in the region, in national, minority, and English or other colonial languages, similar numbers of historic journals and government serials and thousands of historic manuscripts (http://www.crl.edu/programs/seam).

SEAM’s collection is fully catalogued and can be searched in the Center for Research Libraries (CRL) online catalogue and in OCLC Worldcat. With the support of Southeast Asian Art Academic Programme (SAAAP), funded by the Alphawood Foundation, SOAS University of London has become a member of SEAM since March 2017. SOAS Library members can now borrow materials from SEAM collections via interlibrary loan and access to its digital collections.
