The Nehru Centre in London’s Mayfair will be putting on an exhibition of Violet M Digby’s paintings of Kashmir in the last two weeks of April this year. It will be the first opportunity to see her paintings since her death in 1960. Violet was the mother of Simon Digby, an English oriental scholar, translator, writer and collector who was awarded the Burton Medal of the Royal Asiatic Society.

The exhibition will be open to the public between 10am to 6pm from Tuesday 19 April until Thursday 28 April (closed on Wednesday 20 April for Mahavir Jayanti and closed at the weekend 23/24 April). The evening viewings are from 6pm to 8pm on Tuesday 19th, Friday 22nd and Wednesday 27th April. There will be a chance to mingle with drinks and snacks.

David Lunn, Simon Digby Postdoctoral Fellow at SOAS is involved with this project. If you are interested in attending then please RSVP through violetmdigby@gmail.com
