From January, the UK Data Service will be rolling out a programme of 26 regular webinars throughout the year. These will cover a collection of 14 core topics. A flyer listing the topics and dates is available at http://ukdataservice.ac.uk/media/455322/core-webinars-2015.pdf.

Webinars are online seminars which are free and easy to join without the expense and trouble of travel any further than to your own computer.

To book or to find out more about the wider programme of outreach and training events including their specialist and one-off webinars please go to ukdataservice.ac.uk/news-and-events

What’s happening in January:

· Introduction to the UK Data Service, 20 January

· Open geographies and open software – using open UKDS Census Support datasets in open source GIS software, 21 January

· Key surveys (national and cross-national), 29 January

Don’t forget Vicky Bird, our Subject Librarian for Economics, DeFims and Politics, will also be running training sessions on locating datasets using both Library databases and further afield. So keep an eye out for these too in the run-up to your dissertation work!
