What’s Up Doc?

16 December 2021 @ 5:00 pm - 6:30 pm

Ever wondered what PhD students do? Or why PhD students do what they do? Or what a ‘PhD’ even is? If so – then the SOAS History Blog’s final community-led event this term is for you!

What‘s Up Doc– what‘s that? – who is this for?
Inspired by previous SOAS Union events of similar names, we at the SOAS History Blog are keen to help our undergraduate and masters students connect with ‘history work’ being done at SOAS by your fellow students. This one hour, panel-style discussion will feature three current PhD students who will briefly introduce their topics, their motivations and their personal journeys before and during the PhD process. Come see real, live (and very friendly) PhD students and ask all those burning questions you have always wanted to know.
Who are the Panelists!
TBC – when let you know as they confirm!
What is the SOAS History Blog
The SOAS History blog was launched by the HRP Department of SOAS in May 2021. This digital platform includes articles, community profiles, events and podcasts (and so much more!) and you are invited you to contribute! The SOAS History Blog is being built as a space where any SOAS students, staff and alumni interested in the broad subject of ‘history’ are welcome to contribute articles, events, and profile-pieces. To find out more join our mailing list or student WhatsApp group (here), or send us an email directly to soashistoryblog@soas.ac.uk.
