From 1st July 2013, the electronic version of the Official Journal of the European Union (OJ) will be legally valid and authentic.  Read the press release from the EU Publications Office.  The EU Commission wants to improve citizens’ access to the law and to their rights.  Before July, only the print version is authentic.

The OJ has been available in print and electronic form for many years.  It can be found on  Eur Lex, the EU’s law portal which provides free access to European Union law.  The OJ is published daily, and includes legislation (series L) and information and notices (series C).
