The findings of the research produced by Professor Joshua Yindenaba Abor , Professor Mohammed Amidu, Mr. Haruna Issahaku reveal that:

  1. Mobile penetration and financial inclusion significantly reduce the probability of a household becoming poor
  2. The welfare benefits of mobile telephony and financial inclusion are not more pronounced in female-headed households.
  3. Mobile diffusion and financial inclusion considerably increase per capita household consumption of food and non-food items.
