There is an online article in THE (http://www.timeshighereducation.co.uk/news/best-and-worst-of-sectors-websites-revealed/2011519.article) which highlights the Sitemorse rankings of higher education institution websites (http://www.sitemorse.com/survey/report-table.html?rt=1015&v=blobs). The rankings are issued quarterly and are based on more than 238 million checks covering everything from functionality, accessibility, code quality to response time.

SOAS came 52 out of 339 – there was only one Russell Group University ranked higher than us with Bristol at 47th, many of the other high ranked sites were for smaller HE colleges rather than universities. Our competitors came below us with KCL (63), Oxford (102), UCL (120), Sussex (142), Cambridge (184) and LSE (226).

So thanks to Kobir who has been working on link integrity and members of the Web Action Group who have been keeping their department and directorate sites up to date and to the networks team in LIS who keep the web servers and network working well.
This ranking is purely to do with the technical, accessibility and integrity of the website, the other main aspect of the site is making sure it is accurate and up to date, so if you find out of date information on the site please contact your department’s representative on the Web Action Group.
